National Barn Company participates on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

National Barn Company was honored to participate on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in building a horse barn for the Hampton family in Ash Grove, Missouri. The 8 member Hampton family had been living in a cramped one-bedroom, one-bath farmhouse. National Barn Company began construction work on July 16, 2009. We built a 36x48x12 horse barn with two 6'x48' porches, six 12'x12' horse stalls, 12'x12' tack room, 12'x12' feed room, six Dutch doors, one 12'x11' split sliding door with crossbucks, two 3x3 cupola with a horse weathervane. Horse stall features include a swing-out feeder and drop down panels in the stall doors and post protectors on all of the main support posts. The episode will be airing on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 7 pm CST on ABC.

Thanks from the Hampton Family
Dear National Barn Company,
We can never express to you how much our new barn means to us. When we opened up the back door to the house and saw our new barn we were beside ourselves. We were so proud of our old barn but to see the new one was like upgrading from a ford festiva to a brand new Mercedes. Everything we could ever want you have given to us. Not only is it a safe haven for our horses from the elements, but now we can groom and everything in the barn. The dutch doors add such a ritzy look to the barn, and we would never be able to do something like that ourselves. Most people don’t realize what a quality building you have built for our family. It is not only a barn to us, it is a second home. We will probably spend more time in the barn than we will in the house. If my wife will let me put an a/c unit in it I would make it my first home. Once again we can never thank you enough for the state of the art barn that you have blessed us with, and we will cherish it as long as we are alive. We will be a walking advertisement for your company, and hopefully we can bless you with a lot of business. My uncle who is a very reputable horse trainer in this part of the country told me I don’t know what I have in this barn. I do realize what I have, a piece of art and a building that was erected in the spirit of love and kindness and selflessness and I absolutely love it. Thank you for giving us something that we would never be able to build ourselves. God bless you and your company.
Wishing you a blessed day,
Chris and Niki Hampton Family

About the Hampton Family
Chris and Niki Hampton's family doubled from 4 members to 8 when a social services agency called them regarding their 4 nieces and nephews. Chris and Niki were told they had an hour to decide if they would take in Gage, Kira, Lexi, and Jacob - or let them go to foster care.
Chris and Niki opened their home to their nieces and nephews, who range in age from 2 to 8 years old. With their son Dakota (11 years old) and Hannah (8 years old) - the Hampton family have been squeezing into a one-bedroom, one-bath farmhouse. Dakota, Gage, and Jacob share bunk beds in what used to be the dining room. Hannah, Kira, and Lexi share bunks in what used to be a utility closet.
National Barn Company will be replacing the Hampton's old horse barn, which was used for the horses the family rescued. Chris Hampton is the president of the Missouri Family Rodeo Association. Their original horse barn was built in the 1950's and had termite damage. All of the wood was rotten and had severe structural damage. National Barn Company is proud to be a part of building a brand new 36x48x12 horse barn for the Hampton family.
The Hampton family will go on vacation to Walt Disney World while the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team, National Barn Company team, workers and volunteers complete their new horse barn.
